P.O.T.Y. 2011

Accrington Observer and Rossendale Free Press, Friday 9th December, 2011.
'Mr Consistency takes top prize'
THE Bruce Howard P.O.T.Y. award is a prestigious honour bestowed upon a golfer whose actions throughout the previous year deserve a special mention at Baxenden GC.
Several golfers were in contention, such as Chris Brannan, who, when it mattered most couldn't convert his birdie leaving it short of the hole or Iain Hackett who found the conditions too taxing. These same conditions gave Billy O'Neill a headache or two.
However one man withstood it all - Ste Taylor, who showed the consisitency required to win this coveted award.
In the final event of 2011 it was the team of Baxenden Captain Garry Aspinall, Brenda O'Neill, Billy O'Neill and Michael Bottomley who triumphed in the nine-hole Texas Scramble event with a score of 29 nett.
All the winners donated their prizes to the children's Christmas party.
