The club was founded in 1913 by a group of local businessmen meeting at The Hargreaves Arms Public House, Accrington. The first clubhouse was Lobby’s Farm, some half a mile from its current location. Set in rolling hillside on the Hyndburn-Rossendale boundary, Baxenden boasts a 9 hole course to be proud of. It offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities and is an excellent choice for parties or the single golfer alike. The competition length is 5734 yards, SSS 68, with a par of 70. From the outer reaches of the course there are splendid panoramic views of the Ribble Estuary and the Pennine Hills of Ingleborourgh and Pendle. The now, totally refurbished clubhouse, provides relaxing surroundings in which to enjoy a well-earned drink, a pleasant meal or a game of snooker.
