About Baxenden & District Golf Club
The club was founded by a group of local businessmen meeting at The Hargreaves Arms Public House, Accrington. The first AGM, for members and intending members, was held on 3rd February 1913 in the Don Cafe, Blackburn Rd, Accrington
The first clubhouse was Gallows Hall Farm, a quarter of a mile from its current location. The current clubhouse was purchased for £1320 in 1926 and the 'new' course opened in 1928.
Set in rolling hillside on the Hyndburn-Rossendale boundary, Baxenden boasts a 9 hole course to be proud of. It offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities and is an excellent choice for parties or the single golfer alike. The competition length is 5734 yards, SSS 68, with a par of 70.
From the outer reaches of the course there are splendid panoramic views of the Ribble Estuary and the Pennine Hills of Ingleborourgh and Pendle.
The totally refurbished clubhouse, provides relaxing surroundings in which to enjoy a well-earned drink, a pleasant meal or a game of snooker.
